What should i use to glue the rearview mirror to the windshield?
The permatex adhesive kit is glue only and wipes. There should be a thin
Pad to take up the thin lip around the mirror mount. Where do I purchase?

When mine fell off of my 72 it was just the base. I didn't see a pad.

I use the high strength glue available at flaps. I've done 6 customer cars and so far, so good. Prep is the key.

A trick that George Hussey suggested is to run a bead of silicone RTV around the edge after installation. That helps prevent space forming between the foam tape and the glass. Basically keeps a vacuum. I cannot say how much that helps but I can say mine haven't fallen off.
