Hi all.. I'm considering adding positive side stripes to my recently painted car....
As my car is flared, I'm concerned they may not be long enough to adequately cover the flareouts?

Am I being silly? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Thanks much.

Get the file, go to a print shop, get them made whatever length you want.

I'd expect them to be too short unless they are made "long" and meant to be adjusted for length.

The harder thing is going to be installation. Most add on stripes can bend in a single direction only. Trying to bend in two axis will be frustrating.

Painting them is yet another challenge. What "looks" straight in a dead side on will not look straight when viewed from above. The "straight" looking stripes on a Shelby GT350 are NOT straight at all. I helped paint one of those and the layout of that stripe was one of the bitchier things with that paint job.

The modern style "wrap" is probably the best answer. These can multi axis bend and a really good lay-out artist can probably tweak the design to look good from multi angles.

After looking at a bunch of images on the Net I have another possible solution.

Almost none of the stripes actually go full length anyways...

Make them a bit shorter than normal and don't extend the stripes on the flare angle.

This works better for stripes on the rocker over stripes on the body.

Short stripes might look better than full length with the ends getting squiggly.
