This is why you add a 3rd brake light! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Oh man, bummer but a great project for someone. A bit risky but looks to be whole and well cared for before the smack. Great color combo.

Needs a BIG pull!

If I had the time I can fix that. The whole rear section would have to be replaced. I also have a pretty good idea where most of the NOS parts are to do it too. It won't be easy or cheap but doable. It looks like there's a minimum asking price set as well.

I just noticed it seems to be a Euro-spec car. Such a shame it was hit. What's with the 3rd brake lights? This thread is the first I've heard of them being added to a 914... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

@Ace
Here is a 3rd hi-mount LED brake light.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/166891030557

When my friends follow, they say it is very noticeable. It is an e-Bay item for about $44.97. It attached with 3M molding tape; the light weighs nothing. We used a heat gun to gently, patiently introduce a slight curve to the light to match the "role bar" hoop. A cardboard template of the roof curve would help; heat the light and bend to match. We mounted it in from the trim a little bit; no holes, just tape.

The hardest part would be getting thin wires through to the light. We had removed my back glass to replace it with a much nicer glass and did this then. The wire comes out at the top center of the glass and is not visible as it goes right to the light. I do not know if you could fish a wire through the glass and chassis at the top or not with glass installed.

They also offer a red lens LED for about $15.00. I got the smoked lens because when it is not illuminated, you can't really see it.

You can fish the wires through the trim to the battery area, that’s how I did mine.
