A year ago I bought a '73 2.0 and immediately stripped the carpeting out of the interior in order to replace the pieces. Time flies, even when you're not having fun, and I've forgotten the order in which the console and gauge package are installed. Any suggestions on the order in which these pieces are installed?

IIRC, assemble the lower portion i.e. the 2 sides and front & rear pieces. There are metal brackets that holds it together. Then place that assembly on the carpet. Remember to have your wires from the heater fan and light above the carpet and the small wiring harness that goes to the gages. Use an awl to locate the screw holes beneath the carpet that hold the brackets in place. Then the top piece is mounted onto the metal rails attached to the side pieces. Be sure to connect the brown wire to the heater switch and the wire to the heater fan indicator light. Lastly the gage panel attaches to the metal bracket that is connected to the upper portion of the side pieces. There are 2 metal clamps that the accept the pins from the top of the panel that hold it in place. I'm sure I skipped something but you'll figure it out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
