Good Afternoon folks!
We made it to Friday! Yeahhhh buddy! Scanning the weekend car calendar and I see that tomorrow is the first Saturday of the month (August 01, 2026). Are any of you San Francisco Bay Area folks thinking about heading to the EASY Cars and Coffee in Emeryville? Who's in? What: The EASY Cars and Coffee in Emeryville is a casual monthly gathering for Porsche and classic car fans held on the first Saturday of every month. Where: 4060 Harlan St, Emeryville, CA 94608 (former European Auto Salvage Yard location) When: Time: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM (crowds start arriving around 7:30 AM) I'm going to head up that way if I can figure out the timing/AFR on the 914. I drove the car into the office 3 days this week (25 miles one way, freeway driving) and I noticed that the head temps would climb pretty high if I was in 5th gear below 2800/3000 rpms. If I was in 4th and/or keeping the RPMs above 3000, things cooled off pretty quickly. With the AFR, I'm not able to get AFR down around 14.1 at cruise, the car wants to bounce up to 15.2:1 - 15.5:1. I need to do more investigation into that. Investigations with Claude AI is telling me to check the timing at 3500 to make sure I'm at 28 degrees all in by then. It's also suggesting I double check my TPS (throttle position switch) to make sure it's going all in when I go full throttle (to tell the ECU to give it all the onions/fuel). Maybe I'm over thinking / obsessing too much, I just don't want to melt a hole in this new motor. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |
