How do you tell if a shift rod is bent?
I've looked at pictures of others from the same angle, and it appears mine may be bent.

Is there any way to tell without buying another one?

Hard to tell but most of them are bent. I have a jig I use to fix them.
How does it line up in the back to the coupler at the trans? They can be off by a bunch and still work. Is it rubbing on the engine bar?
They bent so the curve gets greater.
