MSDS exhaust headers installed by RuF on this beauty >>my Sonauto #40 style with our improved merged collectors. Alois ordered 2 sets 1) for this white tribute car, and another set on a tribute car I noticed on Instagram. I'll give him a pass on RuF taking credit for 'Their Stainless Steel exhaust' system...I've met with him and Alois is a totally stand up guy ! The headers are NOT sold in SS, only raw carbon steel/ or Ceramic coated, these in the BaT ad are raw carbon steel.
His BaT writer was probably not aware.

good eye you have jeff.
the answer is a rock star. rock stars are all the same.

but .......its also not tin, its fibreglass. probably passable? maybe. grommet probably shatter the edges of the no doubt well and truly aged epoxy assuming its vintage "tins" or is that "plastics" in the case of a "not a not a real porsche" engine. i dunno. The #40 gt equipped with sheet metal/ no fiberglass here. We did get her with several bumps + grinds appearing on the tin>> but came out perfect after using body shop hammers/ tools then blasted, powder coated. For sure a nice new grommet installed there too. Fiberglass is a nice touch + not necessarily period correct to a gt...but unless it is flame retardant a faulty Weber /fuel line could be a handful.

Well they did install Glendale's best.
Factory gt headers (re-purposed from 906) only available in 1.5" o/d tubing>> way restrictive on a 2.4L We build these in 1.625" and 1.75" o/d for bigger engines. RuF went with the larger size, and the engine makes just under 250 hp (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif)

Nice car and typical build, but to me nothing special or out of the ordinary. Just another GT replica. Curious what the RUF name will bring to the auction. I am surprised.. You would think it would at least have a RUF steering wheel, Seats and some custom body work.

They began as a mechanic garage and still to Porsche restorations. The Ruf labeled cars are all them (or previously bodies in white that Ruf builds up with their own VIN).

If I had unlimited budget I’d have them do a factory style restomod (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Absolutely Mark, our members here do construct some fantastic machines !
Another 'Perk for these exhaust headers is that their 'Tribute Build went through the TüV inspection, and has passed with an OK (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The VIN stamping on the right inner fender is dodgy. The paint badge is not correct; and what number did they use for the production #? The transmission serial and type numbers certainly look like 911 and not a 914/6.
Other than that, the car build looks good.

Agreed, build looks good, looks great really, and I would be damned proud to own it. And yes, there have been several other similar builds here that are/were fantastic as well. The purists out there may not like them so much, but there have been plenty of nice original restoration projects from the members here too, bringing hopeless looking rust piles back to life. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

I was also looking closely at the VIN# and especially the replacement Karmann badge. I was going to ask you what that production # meant. Couldn't read the tranny number well enough to determine what car it came from. I'm not sure how much any of it matters if one is looking to buy a highly modified replica GT tribute clone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)
