He probably didn't have time to put the wheels on yet. Work was keeping him really busy. |

Yeah, a purple 914. A purple Porsche. Some people might call it egg plant or something like that, but it's really purple. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

Hi Mike!
I never got the wheels mounted... but they're safely packed away, and they'll get mounted next fall, I think. Those wheels are certainly beautiful (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) Both cars are tucked in for a long hiberation. -Lawrence |

Yep.
It's way too early... tucking them away, all nice and clean, batteries disconnected, plastic covering the concrete floors - it was kind of bittersweet. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) -Rusty (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif) |

That's a drag... Whaddyagonnado? You're having to stuff yours away just as I got one for a driver. I forgot how much fun it is to drive around in a friggin go cart. What a blast! And this time of year is the best.

Good morning, Bruce.
Actually, I was promoted in 2001, while I was stationed in Egypt. Been overseas twice since then. Promotions are a bit more strict than people think. Your boss can't just walk up and say "Hey, you're doing a great job - let's promote you." Maybe way back, there were battlefield promotions and stuff, but it just doesn't happen these days. But if all goes well, I'll be offered my next promotion in about a year. Odds are, it will be my last. I'm not willing to put in the time or politicing for the promotion after that. -Rusty (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif) |

Morning Bud,
where ever you end up keep your head down. Remember you still owe me a ride in the Aub car whenever we finally hook up. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) |

I got word from a guy in Kansas that "lawrence has left Kansas". Is that true Clay? Did he ship out already? I knew he was due, but I'm not sure when.

Why not just ask me? Is Clay my father? Well, okay, he's old enough to be. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
(We need a grey haired smiley.) You must be talking about Michael. He called me Friday night hoping for some help with his newest acquisition. He's had a string of bad luck with 914s, and I think he has four now. Unfortunately, I'm no longer in the area to help him. I think he'd be willing to trade parts and stuff for some on-site technical support. He has a really clean roller that I know he'd be interested in selling. No title and it needs some work, but it was pretty solid when I saw it. Elvis left the building on the last weekend of August. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/burnout.gif) I've been bouncing around ever since. I'm in Virginia for the next couple of weeks. -Rusty (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif) |

'Cause I figured he would know. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) And if you were traveling overseas, you wouldn't be screwin around here. And I resemble that remark. |

You're right. Clay is usually in the loop on stuff like that. He's a proactive kind of guy... rattling my cage when I fall off the radar. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)
Dude.. I can't help the fact that you're old, too. As some of my soldiers might say, "Don't hate the playa, hate the game." (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif) |
