Looked at a 71 this evening. It is a Northeast car so I fugured there was going to be some rust. What I found was odd to me. Front fenders all over - no rust. Rear fenders including door jambs-no rust. Underside of rear trunk lid-no rust. Front hood same-no rust. Doors are great.
What I found was rear trunk floor, the back end. was all fiberglassed in. The floor pan on both sides of the car at their outer edges against the side wall were rusted through. Poked my finger thru them. Is this strange that the fenders, doors, lids are in great shape and the floor pan is junk.
Proabaly wont buy it. Any idea of probable cost of replacing the floor pan and rear trunk floor???
Thanks for the responses.

From my experience it sounds like it a huge project. Most likely you will find more rust in all the wrong places.
