Well since you mentioned (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sawzall-smiley.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

How is the rear trunk lid. Looking for a nice straight rust free one. I guess it would be a major PITA to ship (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Oh and a nice non pitted rear trunk lot. key or not, I don't care. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

Ok I will put my request in the classifieds (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/slap.gif)

Sorry about your wreck, but it's great that you had no injury in a t-bone...

Look in Excellence Magazine. They post the Porsche Used car pricing at the current market rates. Some say they are too high... if that's true.. it's good for you when you go to your insurance company with the claim.

Excellence features each model almost every month, running through the entire historic product line over the course of a year, then they start again with the tables updated.

Sorry about the loss of your car. You walked away that's the important thing.

Shouldn't there be a grieving period before the vultures come out ? ( Say 24hrs?). (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

I have an older Excellence issue with values in it. Has there been an update within the last year or so?

Why not repairable?

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) i know 914s are a dime a dozen around here, but i'm sure that could be straightend out.

do a search for Udo Frey's GT that he mangeled up, i think it looked worse than yours.

It looks like the long on that side got bent a little. The search has started and is going pretty good. There are about 5 cars that I am interested in already! All in WA. Thanks for the update Kev.

Man, sorry to hear about your car. Glad that you're okay and that I got to see the car prior at the pizza dinner.....too bad.

I just got the newest Excellence last night and it has an update on 914 prices and couldn't believe it. The guys that are pulling together the prices seems to be really up on 914s and really down on 944s. They believe you should be able to buy a cream puff '89 Turbo, with less than 50K miles for $10-11K but that a '74 2.0 in average shape will bring $5.5-6.5K. Doesn't seem quite right to me but maybe you can work this to your advantage.

Ouch!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

That sucks about the car. Great to hear you walked away from it though. Steel and plastic can be repaired and replaced easilly enough, flesh and bone aren't so simple...

As for the vultures? Well, we all will do anything we can to help a fellow 914'er out. But when the announcement of "total" goes into the air, it's like chum in the water...

It comes down to preserving the breed I guess.. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

#1, glad you're Ok!

#2, I feel for you. Dang man, hearing about this - and seeing the photos - really hurts. That was a real clean car. That really sucks. Hang in there... Hopefully their insurance will pony up what it takes to get another car you'll be happy with.

Guess you won't be needing those bumpers any more... ... ... crap, don't even feel like posting the smiley now.

Keep us posted. You've got a lot of support around here.

Sean,

Very glad you are O.K.

Very sorry about your teener. It was a very sweet ride.

It was great meeting you down on Alki last month.

If my teener got hit like that, there would be bits shattered fiberglass for hundreds of feet.

Good luck.

Eddie

Anyone know any tricks with claims adjusters to get more out of a teener wreck? By the way, just for a clear up, my name is Jim. Not Sean. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)

Bummer dude.

A good source of pricing information for our cars is:

http://www.collectorcarmarket.com/

Just follow the links to enter the year and model. For example a 75 2.0L is at

http://www.collectorcarmarket.com/menus/cc...cs/75po9120.htm

Don't accept what the insurance company says. I know of someone locally who totalled her 914 a little over a year ago and the insurance company tried to claim a very low price. The body shop became her advocate and they eventually agreed her 914 - in extremely good condition - was worth about $11K.
