IMCDb doesn't list the 914 at all.. but they list the movie LeMans. And we all know that there is a 914 in that movie.

IMCDb search for Porsche 914.

Maybe we should all do some submitting to update the database? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rocking nana.gif)

Funny that you mentioned the movie LeMans, just watched it for the umptenth time last week. Should be a standard 914 trivia question:

How many times do they show the white 914 getting passed?

Porsches in movies

my wife actually spotted a 914 in a movie the other night and called me into the room to see it. "Roxanne"

maybe someon is bored and wants to extract the 914's from the list, so that we have our own list? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

I am surprised that no one thought of the best 914 represented movie that had many, many 914's in it.

The movie Lifeguard, starring Sam Elliot as a lifeguard shows a Porsche dealership in southern California about 1975,or 76. For about ten seconds you get to see one 914 in the showroom ,and some out the window on the dealer's parking lot. It was very cool to see them as new. My wife called me the other day too, to see a yellow 914 in the movie Roxanne, I missed it.

There's a quick shot of a 914 in Parallax View - a wierd 70s conspiracy movie with Warren Beatty. After he steals a police car and it gets covered with mud he charges through a parking lot, past the 914 and then crashes into a grocery store. Don't blink or you'll miss it.

Opening shot of Silver Streak has a silver 914 following the cab that Gene Wilder is in arriving at Los Angeles Union Station.

It's just starting on INHD2 today. Don't blink or it's gone.

Funny that you mentioned the movie LeMans, just watched it for the umptenth time last week. Should be a standard 914 trivia question:

How many times do they show the white 914 getting passed?

The white 914-6GT is now sitting in Hergesheimers shop in Mission Viejo.
Its been sitting there for over a year.
The rear brakes froze up the last time the owner tried to pull it off the trailer for a car show.
Every time I go to Hergesheimers I just stare at it.
What a piece of history.
I wonder what that cars worth??

Could be a nice collectible. I heard the 911 Steve McQueen drove in the opening scene is in Jerry Seinfelds Porsche collection.

Hey People

Sorry for the question, but what software is needed to take a "snapshot" form DVD movies ? I would like to take these stills shots from various movies and various cars.
Do I need a big $$$ soft that bypasses security??? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

Thanx

You should be able to capture a still on your PC, if your PC has a DVD player. The Ulead software that came with my DVD burner will capture stills.
