While under my car today I noticed the numbers imprinted on the bottom of the tranny seem weird for a 914. They are: 911 770 0981. Anyone know what trans this is?

Thanks for the info. Would a '77 934 be a 901 trans? When did they change to the 915?

915 came in 73 or 74

I am not familiar with the 934/935 trans but the cars themselves were race prepared.

The 930 which would be the street prepd car of 77 was a 4 speed.

Give shifft housing cover a look and see what numbers are there.

My guess is its a 901 too

But all of the 901 trans should have the 901 numbers stamped first

I think the # andy checked was a VIN or chassis number, not a part#
Unless you have an upside down 930 gearbox that is...

cheers,

Jeroen

The numbers I posted were on the very bottom towards the rear of the trans. I was under the car on a crawler looking up and realized they didn't match numbers I'd seen recently for the 901's.
