Funny, I JUST got done reading the same ad. Seems pricey, but sure looks nice. I wouldn't mind driving over to take a closer look and meet the guy. He's only a few minutes from my house.

If nothing needs to be done to it I don't think this price is out of line.

in my puffed up arrogant opinion i just dont think a car that has that many "up grades" an engine that is far from original and what ever else has been done should command top dollar. cars that are nuts on as factory original as you can get them should be the high dollar prizes. there are so very few and that should be reflected. enough said.

It's pricey but not totally out of line when you consider how much it would cost to hot rod a 914-6 that way. He's probably got an easy $20K in the new engine, new paint, LSD, suspension, brakes, oil cooler, etc. If this was my dream 914 I'd start with an offer around $23K and see what the reaction was. One would easily spend over $30K and hundreds of hours to build a car like this.

Car looks great, the mods are nice.

Yes, it's a lot of coin, but it's a turn-key car, ready to go, you don't have to spend 5 years building it and pay twice the amount while doing so...........heck, if you have a line of equity your payments would be about $150 a month (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) .....hmmmmm, I need to talk to the wife, hahahaha

All I can add is I know the owner , body shop, and engine trans builder, It is a nicely modified car. Its been done for a while and still nice.

You may want to get a couple of quotes to make your car the quality of this car. It aint cheap.
Its not a 1k motor, 1k paint job,on a 2k conversion.

For the record:
My 914-6 is stored all stock. Dad bought it 1975 3250.00

If I understand your question... No.

The point is that the asking price is FAR less than what he probably spent on the car. Like half, give ir take. In other words, you couldn't duplicate what he's put together for anything close to the asking price. So the asking price, while it may seem pretty high, may* represent a screamin deal.

And he may not even get his asking price anyway. But I'll bet he gets close if the car is as nice as it appears.
