Went on a 11 day Porsche tour to Germany. Put over 2000 km on the 997S, drove laps on the Ring, hot laps in a Carrera GT at the Liepzeg Porsche Factory, saw Dachau, grim, cruised the Autobahn at 270kph(170mph). Some of the guys say they got up to 305kph, I was in too much traffic so only got up to max of 275kph. The company was Autobahn Adventures, Mark and Tina.

Had a great time, came home and promply got sick, so that's why the late post, I was picking up meds when the 6 got hit. I just downloaded my camera from the trip yesterday. I need to edit them for size and will post later.

Oh yeah, here's a great link to a video of a lap at the ring, 5 laps cost 50 Euro, but remember, 1 lap is 14 miles, 5 laps, about 70 miles, woohoo.

That video confused the crap out of me until I figured out that they are using the F1 track.
I've seen it before, but that was before I knew my way around the track (Project Gotham II & Forza Motorsports).
That is a stellar lap he's showing us!

If you want to drive the track, Forza's version on XBOX is about 99% true to what you saw Mr. Stuck doing in his BMW GTR - which you can drive in Forza, too!

sounds like you had a lot of fun.

That video man all the cars he passed were just toddling along it looked like. I wonder how fast he was going on the last straigh when he passed that GT3.

When I've driven the M3GTR, on the main straight at the end of the lap, I top out at about 173mph....The long straight on the backside (about 1/2 way through) I can do about 165.

I only wish I could drive that good. The driver if I'm reading it right is Hans Stuck.

Here's a pic of me after finishing my laps. There was 3 accidents on my last lap, 2 bikes, and 1 bmw went into the rail. Figured I'd better stop before I wipe out the rental Porsche. The Ring is only open in the evening, so there's a couple places where you have the sun right in your eyes, visors won't help.

Saw my first Cayman S after the laps. This one was all set up, roll bar, 5 points, etc. Sweet, it was at the hotel.

Me getting in the Carrera GT, the driver was soooo cool, drifted the GT around every corner, said he goes thru a set of tires a day, sometimes two set, depends how many rides he gives. He just got picked to drive the Porsche Cup series.

The 917 that won Le Mans, Wow, they also had the GT1, the 959 that won Paris-Dakar, a lot of history making cars at the Liepzig customer center. Have you ever had Porsche chocolate with your coffee, Porsche sugar too. I brought some home too, lol

Entrance to the Ring. It's run like a autocross, you have to stop after each lap and use you lap card to get back on for another lap.

And the 997 Carrera S that I put over 2000 km's on. It was sweet with the electronic suspension control, street or track.

Autobahn Adventures are putting on another trip next year in September, I just signed up to go again.
