I was at the race, parked in the Porscheplatz near turn 2. The car seemed flawless, I think they could have pressed harder but they were being conservative in order to be sure of a finish....it seemed to be the consensus that they were going for as high a finish as possible but with a sure finish. The car looked great and was well driven considering it was a greasy track and the sand and gravel issues were constant. I could even see stuff on the track when we did our 2 lap parade for 100 lucky Porsche pushers. Not too bad. I was able to hit the corkscrew at 50+ on the second lap...and I hit it on line (thank god) I was in the tail position of my run group...Narp cars to the rear...you know. Only 3 teeners in the paddock but one was the 914-6GT that was at Willow during the last WCC...the one with the big assed whale tail....good racing but cold and raw after the sun started to go down. |
