Does anyone know a source for tan upholstery material, both the solid and basket weave for'75'/76'? Have a great guy to do it. He just can't seem to find a source for the fabric. Would buy a ready made kit if they were available in anything but black. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

World Upholstery

I have brand new uninstalled tan covers from them that I'd be interested in selling...let me find the box and take a picture.

Unfortunately, I don't believe they have the correct baskerweave in the tan vinyl listed, only black. The have a domestic reproduction that is somewhat similar.

However, it looks like they might be able to emboss any vinyl they have. Call and be sure.

Check out TMI for their classic VW materials. order their samples to compare as the 75-76 914 stuff is the same as VW.

I had my interior done at Autos International in Escondido California. I wanted it redone in tan rather than the original black. The owner said he couldn't get tan in the same basketweave as the black and showed me some substitutes. But they all looked like crap, so I stuck with the black. I figured if AI couldn't get it nobody could.

Well, I heard that same story about my Westy's green plaid material "That stuff hasn't been around in years! Let me sell you this stuff we stock"
I found on the web tons of it and have enough including the stock green vinyl to redo the interior. yep, I took it over to this shop just to show him the material and he wanted to buy it off me on the spot!

look around it is out there.
