I watched it, it was pretty good but they didn't hit the 200mph mark. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)
I liked the 550 reps and they said they sell for about $20K, is that right? |

Great episode (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) I just wish Leno did not have to take center stage! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif)

I was dissapointed. 15 minutes of content stretched into a 1 hour program.
But the 15 minutes of content was pretty good. Had it only been 15 minutes long, I would have given it 2 thumbs up. Demick |

I enjoyed it.
As to the "Porsche". I think most people say it both ways (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) KT |

The dialogue was loaded with misinformation and the show is populated by poseurs. Whathisname Nelson gushing on about Dean winning lots of races in the Spyder, which he'd not yet raced, the host and others gushing on about how Leno was one of the great Porsche collectors (he has ONE, and one fake, as I recall), and things like that. Young Mr Nelson needs to get a life, bragging about all his cars like they're milestones in marking the successful progress of his socalled life. Musician? Where? His dad had a hit series on TV? His grandmother and grandfather did, and his dad was a part of it. Driving around, like a LOT of other Spyder replica owners, in a not-too-close copy of car that was owned by a guy most famous for how he died, not for what he did in his short life. Personally, I'd rather have a copy of PL Newman's Datsun 510. At least he was a winner who went on to further greatness in all dimensions of his life. The speed record attempt? TEN MPH SLOWER than the Audi SEDAN that ran there 20 years ago. The Cap'n, tired of the whole hype.

Hey Capt'n
You totally missed the point of the show. It wasn't about history or Porsche specifically. It was about Hollywood's relationship with Porsche - which is all about poseurs, misinformation, status, etc etc. So the show was right on!! |

What hurts us the most is folks will now be endlessly quoting the "facts" from this show .................. The Cap'n

How bout the ASSHOLE with the 962 that "imagines it sounds pretty good" because he hasn't fired it up yet. What a dick! He shouldn't be alowed to touch that car much less own it. Fucker!
