My guess is they are running independently, using a common belt driven driveshaft. That way you don't need to synch the motors or worry about firing order. Bet that's why he used the one carb.

I bet not. Probably just welded all the shit together with 2" thinwall galvanized pipe.

He used a single carb because he stole it off the El Camino thats up on blocks in the front yard.
