This picture is from another thread, I like the look but I haven't found any pictures from the back of the car. Does anyone have one? Would the stripes carry over the cowl and windshield frame also? I think it would look good on my car. I'm saving my $$ for a paint job next year.

go to a sign shop and have them make it up out of removable vinyl....
The removable stuff is not as tough as the non-removable stuff, but it will last a few years. Give it a try before you paint and that way you will know if you want it... Rich |

I think those stripes would look good if they go down the rear trunk, especially if they ran into a black spoiler or a black tailpanel.
Greg, is that second car owned by a guy named "Hutch"? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) |

Lots of dents & dings, fender lips were rolled by a PO some time ago and cracked the paint, rear trunk lid has a dime size area with the paint missing, need to replace front trunk seal channel by the headlights and the biggie to me some PO painted some sort of VW yellow over the nice Porsche L20E (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)
But it does look good from 20 feet (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) |

what I found out so far:
914.0.43.0234 bahia red first it was a test car and a presentation car for the GTs it was used as a camara car for a commercial (914 2.0) on the old Nurburgring (see the photo - unfortunately you can't see if the stripes last to the end of the car) then it was sold to Erich Strenger, the famous graphic artist (Mr. Strenger is the artist who made the fantastic drawing of the Marathon de la Route winning car I just won on eBay (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) - extreme rare item) the women on the photo (at the beginning of this thread) is the wife of Erich Strenger current owner/location of the car is unknown (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) Attached thumbnail(s) |

I had my doubts, too
M471 and bahia red would fit to 1971, I know but I was told that this was a GT presentation/show car, so the factory decided to paint it in a non-standard colour - sounds o.k. for me |
