Been doin' my end of season inspection as I take this sucker apart. The Suspension ears are sound, Meuller brgs are as tight as the day I put em' in, no cracks anywhere.....how long can this last. It appears that these beasties are stronger than I thought.

Nope. I pulled the motor once to find it.....them, actually. 1)The intermediate cover plate was warped about .02. I had another that was warped only .005 or so and was able to sand it flat....new gasket & some goop. 2)The stinker around the *outside* of the #8 bearing. I went with the "no sealant" around it advice....there is an O ring and that & some silicone grease is supposed to handle that droolin' sumbitch....OOPS. The smoke is a possibility, but I like the ghost of T-4 past. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

Ah-ha! Your secret is out.
JP run's Fix-A-Flat in his race tires. Either that or it's 914 eating mold (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif) KT |

No secret, Brad tole about this...... didn't he tellyou?
That's cause he likes me better. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) It's insulating foam. Keeps rocks that get flang up fron bustin' up the FG & star bursting the lovely paint. It also does a nice job of filling the inside gap twixt the FG & metal body.....glues it in place also.....one of Brad's better plans (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |
