It can be a pain getting ahold of rear droplinks (i'm having a pain).

Thinking about having adjustable droplinks made for less than OEM/Retail price. How many would be interested in adjustable rear droplinks with openings for stock bushing size?

Seems like adjustable drop links would be necessary if you are going to adjust corner wts. To spend all that time adjusting your ride height to get the corners balanced if you have to tweek the sway bar to install the drop links that would screw up the corner wts.

I actually thought it was a good idea. It would give you at least some adjustment which is better than you have with a stock bar now. Plus the fact that you can get them for less. I am in for a set.

No sway (anti-roll) bar is adjustable. Only the length of the arm and/or the drop links.

adjustable - as in the length of the lever arn changes, by moving the drop link closer (STIFFER) or farther (softer) away from the pivot.
with an adjustable bar, you need adjustable droplinks.....

i wouldnt think you would need adjustablity with a fixed arm bar (like a stock rear bar), but someone mentioned cornerweighting...

They *all* are. It's the drop links and there abilty to slide on the "fixed arm bar" that makes them adustable.

We had this discussion a year ago when Ira was looking for someone to test his adustable rear bar. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

A drop link with a mounting bracket that would allow you to slide the droplink on the bar would be fantastic.

eliminating the preload would be nice...ideally the with the car on a level surface it should have zero force differential between each end link, but due to tolerances and beat up chassis and parts, there is bound to have one side under stress instead of being neutral...good idea, just don't use those cheap McMaster-Carr hiem-joints.....I bougth a set of homemade front units at a swap meet and they started to wear out within a few hundred miles

but the droplink mount onthe bar is not adjustable.

we are talking ADJUSTABLE droplinks not adjustable droplink mounts....

so i said...without a "Moveable droplink attatchment point" on the bar, the only benefit of a height adjustable droplink is to eliminate preloading of the bar...

quit bitching about techincalities...

i've actually been thinking about fabricating these on my own, so i'd be in for a quality set, brando.

after corner-weighting the car, i have some serious preload on the rear bar. (also thought about just cutting and welding it to shorten one side...)

cut in the middle, get a die and cut left and right hand threads on it, and make a female threaded middle piece....

basically mod the old dogbone into an adjustable length droplink
