i am trying to clean up the engine area, would like to remove old rotten hoses..
1.7L with Webers, can i plug the spout at the fan shroud opening, and remove hoses to canister.???
also have hoses from the oil filler stack and head area,were they all for the f.i.??? should they just vent outside of engine area.???

Vent those to the air cleaner...doesn't hurt the engine and is good for the enviroment.

You can...or you could also blow that through the canister and into a carb...just fuel vapour.
I plugged it and removed the canister.

yeah.......... thats what i want to do also...
gonna redo the fuel lines and dress it up..
looks like shit now ....P.O. had pieces of heater hose and elbows and copper fittings, and about 20 hose clamps, must have worked at a plumbing supply.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif)
