I know 5 lug fuchs have a fox logo on the back of a spoke. What about 4 lug fuchs? All I can find on the back is "15x5.5" and "AEWC".

the real ones have a VW part number on the back too, along with the fox. Offset is different on the fake ones I think

There should be a 914XXXXXX part number on the back side along with a vw insignia.
Also there should be a lip on the outer rim edge that is similar to a steel wheel. If it is smooth with no lip...definitely a fake. Should look like this: Attached image(s) |

Thanks Mike,
Just a little pocket camera....a Casio Exilim 7.2MP with macro focus, 24x zoom Does pretty well for something you can carry in you shirt or pants pocket. Took those pics with low light and flash. Done about 3 mins before I posted them. My wheels are sitting in the garage waiting for my car to return....then I get some sticky tires....along with the suspension install....
