So, my brother was wondering a few things about the car. He asked me to take some pictures, and I agreed. Not for him of course, but to up my post count. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/blog-1133915970.jpg)We have this mysterious wire, and we don't know what it's for and where it goes--any ideas? Notice that it's coming from the hole on the left (there are two holes). It could be an air conditioning wire of some sort, but we took out the air conditioning (just an idea, eh?) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/blog-1133915997.jpg)As for this one, we know it's a ground wire of some sort, but don't know what to do with it. I pointed out in red the cable bunch that it came from.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/blog-1133916773.jpg)Shaggy was wondering, "Is this clean enough?" Something about gaskets, I presume.

the first looks like a AC leftover as those two holes near the battery tray are *not* factory ...

does it have 12V on it? where does it go from there, once through the fender ...

Do not know about voltage on that wire yet.

Shaggy is in the garage finishing the replacement of the leaky driver's side valve cover gasket, while his mother quizzes him verbally on his Latin studies. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

No battery in the car yet, although I believe he is gonna try to start it tonight.

I figure that wire had to have gone to the compressor clutch.

The other brown wire pictured is a bit more of a mystery.

thanks for your comments,

John (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif)

P.S. He just came in here and asked if the body ground is positive or negative so he must be close to trying to start it up.
update to follow......

Success! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) Alright Shaggy!

Well, mostly, the car stalled a couple of blocks from home, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/barf.gif) gas, perhaps a clamp that did not get tightened. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

No fire, no harm, no foul....

He and Tettster are pushing it home now.

The idle is high 2,000 rpm, perhaps a vacuum leak.

Well, he is a long way from where he was.

He should make the Christmas Dance at his school this Saturday night, with a little luck.

You know you're loved when...

Just kidding! I would gladly sacrifice my room for you over the break, Britt! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif)

Hmm, it seems absolutely freezing over here. Pretty much anything below 90F is cold to me.

You could stick me in the cupboard and if i fit (im not the thinnest person ever) i'll be good.
