I have wondered for a long time what connection there was between the 914 and BP (British Petroleum?) Looking through all the French 914 magazine ads, nearly all of them have BP logos on them in addition to VW-Porsche and Sonauto sponsorship, and one ad seems to be entirely sponsred by BP. I was just looking at the #40 Sonauto car and it has BP logos on it. Was BP a major sponsor for 914 racing? Is there any other significance? I have not seen anything else in print...what else is there to know?

Jeff, I don't know if it's the real answer but I do know that BP made a lot of the race gas back in the early 70s, I'm sure they weren't the only ones but they seemed to be the highest profile.....
