Elvira is a 98 car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Here is the tag.

You can see a little of the original brown where the VIN sticker is scratched.

One of the few other places where there is a trace of the factory custom color.

Dan, I agree with Dave, confirm the chassis number on that Karmann plate matches the ones stamped in your rear trunk. I'm curious about your car.

Where is the trunk stamp at? I'll check it out when I get home from work.

Heh, this thread made me go look at my paint code, L32K or Phoenix Red. But when I look behind the backpad and A-pillars, it's soooo Signal Orange.

"Phoenix Red" is a funny marketing-speak for "Signal Orange" in 74... Or, at the very least, "Phoenix Red" is actually a shade of orange.

Aren't there four Sepia Brown cars that we know about? Chili's in Sac'to, another one in Sac'to (the guy is or was a Rennlist member), Elvira, and the new one?

Sorry, no details on the other guy; I can search my computer at home but I wouldn't be optimistic... Maybe a long dig through the Rennlist archives might turn him up?

Thanks George, can you get the chassis #, DOT date code and engine # also.
If you can find the other car, get the same data, or as much as you can, please.

This is behind the targa seal.

I just recently found out mine was Phoenix Red instead of Signal Orange. Here's a pic under the rockers...

There was a Sephia brown 73 2.0 that sold in the classifieds not long ago (4 months maybe?) it was up in Oregon. I didn't record the vin though. It was a real nice car.

How could I get a color match on "Rasberry"? Are there any other codes beyond 98 (obviously) that I could use?

uhm, it's a 9eleben color. just ask porsche ...

quick google search:

L83E - Raspberry Red metallic

that may or may not be the correct color, but it shouldn't be too hard to find the right code ...

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) All the 98 colors are Porsche colors from other models. Aubergine has a code beyond 98.
