I've been facinated by the old Harley Hummers for years and have decided that I want one. If anyone has one or a lead on one please let me know. Or an old Mustang Motorcycle.

Thanks!

I CAN'T BELIEVE no one's jumped at the opportunity to run with this one! Might wanna stop off at the nearest biker bar. You'll probably find what you need passed out at one of the tables in the back ............................ The Cap'n

I'm a little surprised as well (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) Did everyone have a puritan moment or something?

Anyways here's what a Hummer/Scat looks like:

Yes, I have one. It's a 1955 B Model, the only one that was actually called a Hummer (B Model was made only from 1955 to 1957). The B model is the bare bones model, no front brake, bicycle bulb type horn, magneto ignition and lighting (no key switch). And mine actually runs. I've had it about 20 years now. I had the frame checked for straightness and straightened, sand blasted and repainted, I have the original Hummer tank (no key switch) and a perfect original down swept muffler, one of the hardest parts to find for them as they almost always suffered damage. The rear fender has been straightend and repaired but I don't have a front fender for it. I also don't have the original carburetor so I have a small Mikuni on it that works fine. Original carbs aren't that hard to find I just never bothered since I wasn't going for a complete restoration and the Mikuni works fine.

PM, or better yet email me and I'll send some pictures.

I had horrible visions of a hummer frame with a bike welded to the front of it.

Mike,

Here's a quick picture of my Hummer. It's about no degrees outside, my garage isn't insulated, let alone heated, and I ain't gonna move the 914 out of the way just yet to move the Hummer out for better pics. It's a wee bit dusty but it cleans up fine. The red tank doesn't go with it, the blue one in the photo in the next message does. The blue tank has been refinished to the original color, it too is a bit dusty. The rear fender is still at the painters shop. The pics were low res quick takes so don't judge the quality of the bike by them.
