I bookmark many vendors' sites I see mentioned here, but I wonder
if there are any people out there who've considered using del.icio.us
to maintain a sort of "institutional memory" about this sort of
stuff. If you go to http://del.icio.us/ you can sign up and/or search
for tags. For instance, you might want to search for "porsche 914".
I have a pair of bookmarks in Safari, one that takes me to my
del.icio.us page and one that adds the current page I'm viewing to
my del.icio.us collection (prompting me for suitable tags).

Anyway, I thought it might be an interesting way to store and
categorize various sites.

P.S. The site is down at the moment (9PM-ish CST Sunday evening).
First time I've seen that.

Yup - use it all the time - totally love it! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

It did just get bought by Yahoo! (who have also recently picked up Flikr - which is a similar site for posting photos.)

Ditto that. I got tired of losing all my hard earned links when going from computer to computer. Also discovered YouTube over in the sandbox which is trying to do something similar with videos.
