One of the great engine designers, Keith Duckworth, died last night at the age of 72. Duckworth was the WORTH in Cosworth. Mike Costin was the COS, and was primarily the business guy. Keith was the designer of all of their early engines, culminating with the all-conquering DFV V8, which won more F1 races than any other engine, starting in 1967 with Lotus and finishing in 1983 in a Tyrrell.

No, the Tyrrell six-wheeler was in '76. However, it WAS DFV powered, as was nearly the entire F1 field throughout much of the 1970s. The '83 win was in Detroit, at the hands of Michele Alboreto, pretty much at the height of the turbo era.
