I finally figured out how to post videos out of my in car camera.
Here's one of me at Laguna Seca in my maiden voyage with "Fritz" (the tail dragger). I'll post a link with our 914-6 vid on the same track as soon as I go through the video archive here at my TV set. This is posted on a media share server, so let me know how it runs. Laguna Seca Lap Thanks! Bill P. |

I uploaded it as a MPEG. It must have morphed it to a QT. Hmmm....I'll have to figure that one out.

I just read the fineprint. I need to upload as an .avi file in order for the Windows Media Player to run it. MPEG 1 and 4 are viewed default by QT. Kinda bogus, usually .avi files are much larger than MPEG's (I think).

Bill, I want to see this video badly. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/boldblue.gif)
Use Window Media Encoder and convert the MPEG to a .WMV file. This will compress the file quite nicely. For example one of mine went from 52 MB to 9 MB. For us dial-up guys, this is the differance between an hour or so and an overnight download (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) Thanks, KT |

Video looks good, but I would have had a talk with the Grid worker who sent the black car out when they did.

Hi Trekkor,
Thanks for the tip. I just downloaded the encoder, but I'm going to have to pull off the video production for awhile and go clean up my rental property. The new tenants are moving in next weekend and I need to get all of my tools (i.e. power miter, table saw, rototiller, yada yada yada) out of the garage. I'll encode it tonight and repost. JP, I just enter 914World.com on that link you gave me and it acts as a download server? I hope it's FREE! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) Bill P. |

No, but it sends it there. You'll get a link emailed to you and the link will show on the yousendit screen when it's done downloading. Copy & paste the link. |

Nice video Bill,
It was nice to see you pull the 911 at the exit of 6 going up the hill...torque off the corners is a wonderful thing. Not a bad lap for a 914 driver (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) The car has great torque and is very stable once the tires are warm... I could basically put it anywhere I wanted it. Only got lose the one time at the apex of 2 if I remember correctly, after I tried to get the back end to rotate just a bit. Brakes were fine once they were warm. You mentioned something about Rich suggesting the Hawk Blues? I will be interested how they change the cold braking characteristics. This is a great car, and with a few little tweeks, will be very comfortable for you and Doris. Happy New Year. |
