so, after looking at the inside of the brain on my beater 1.7L and the discovery of lots-o-rust in the housing and on the circuit board, i opted for a spare '70 1.7L brain that seems to be in much better condition.

the early brain doesn't have the idle mixture adjuster and the circuit board is much smaller and has obviously much less stuff on it.
but i don't see any reason why it shouldn't work just fine.

now here's the question, do i need to run a resistor in the CHT circuit with those early brains?
or was that 2.0L only? the haynes manual is not clear on that.

Resistor is ONLY for the 73 2.0 DJET - so you don't need it and that ECU should work fine

the resistor make it run richer...

Check your plugs after some miles and make the call.

1.7 liter motors tend to run a bit rich anyways, so you should be fine.
