They are NLA- To my knowledge no one has them new.
I sell used ones in good condition for 50.00 if you can't find a new one. |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) Yep! Mid America 1800-500-1500 said that they had one and would ship it via Fed Ex. $79.00 plus shipping!
thanks it's funny that Automobile Atlanta seems to be so expensive as well as snobby on the phone and They didn't have it! Ha! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) |

I'll almost guarantee you that the T-stat you get is a modified TI thermostat, not a TIV unit. The two have different expansion properties and allow for different engine temps to fully open.
This is being done by many people and it's purely incorrect- also the T stats that are being used for this are pretty junky units, a customer had one last 3 days, his second lasted a week and the third came out of the box already broken.. |

thanks guys
the one I was sent was indeed the vw one and I just had to unscrew the brass fitting at the end and feed the cable through it. Slightly different properties though I think that it should work o.k. and we'll all start seeing this as an option since the oem ones seem to be NLA! thanks to all, Pete |
