it a 70 1.7 just wanted to talk to some one who may have known or owned this car
I have question about the cam, crank, and carb size it has carbs, konis, tuna can, oil cooler, lots of other stuf, just try-n to get info ps Im very happy with the car |

for the cam, you could measure it while still in the car if you get creative....the carb size should be on the carbs.... to properly measure the crank (to see if it's a stroker), the best bet would be to remove a head to measure the bore and stroke........ I'd venture to say that you have about a 90% chance it's a stock engine with carbs thrown on it .......... |

how do you measure the cam?
already took the head off when I got the car did not think to measure any thing but the bore its a 1.7 w case with 1.8 heads and p/c measure 93 or 94 it was close and it runs good and strong none of the problems that seem to go with the "just a carb change" aproach |

You can search the Cal. DMV data base with the vin # ...it might give you a previous owners name (if it's still in their system)

carbs do/will work on a bone stock motor...PERIOD, no matter what anyone says..... what the issue is, is that some people think that on a stock motor by installing carbs over the FI, they will get a huge HP increase which is very unlikely to happen.....most of the time the FI wasn't running properly or that the increase in air intake noise makes the owner think the car is now faster......... to measure the cam you'd have to remove the valve cover and with a dial gauge and degree wheel mounted on the crank or fan, measure the lift and duration and do the math (graph it out) |
