Does anyone know if the K&N filters will help, gas mileage wise, on something like
a big V-8 Ford Van?

I ask because my parents are leaving for NYC next week, and my dad is always
looking for an extra mile or two per gallon.

He asked me if I thought that 'tornado' device would work, I told him that I
doubted it, but I didn't know for sure.

IMO an air filter will not improve gas mileage. K&N advantage is you can clean them and don't have to buy new filters.

I thought the people that put out that Tornado thing got sued for unsubstantiated claims regarding gas mileage and horsepower. Maybe it was the engine cleaner stuff. I can't remember.
