I was asked by a contributing editor of Bimmer magazine if I could bring my E34 M5 to a photo shoot for a comparison of M5’s. I recently sold the E34 so, I contacted the new owner and he agreed to bring the car. I attended the photo shoot and spent some time with my old flame- I miss her. I’ve also owned at one time an E28 M5 and tried to arrange something with its owner but they utilized a different like car. It was pretty cool to see all of the M versions of the five series platform including the new E60 V10 with 500 horsepower. The owners swapped driving impressions and I rode along in the new E60 and it’s quite a car.

So, I finally get to see my car in a magazine – even though I don’t own it anymore! It was a fun day.

Love that E28 M5! I see one of those almost every day on my commute to work. Your (ex) E34 M5 is a rare gem too!
I'm a happy E39 540i Sport owner and formerly an E34 owner. My oldest bro has the E39 M5. My car is fast, his hauls ass.

Jason,

I sold the e34 and purchased a '03 540 Sport with stepronic. You are right, it's fast but it doesn't haull ass like the M version. The new E60 was down right scary fast!

Tom, those E30's are great cars too. Hang on to that one.

Thanks! It's hanging in tough at 182,000 miles. I keep thinking about an M50 conversion from a 325i. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Hey what about the "Ur" M car. The 80-81 M535i? They are at least 20 or more in the US.

I asked about featuring it...the E12-the editor said he wanted what we showed at the shoot.

I almost purchased one back in 1991. I made an offer and a couple days later the guy wrecked it. So, I ended up with the E28.
