Hye guys!

I am a new member here & I have a 73 2.0 914 that I just got on the road last month.

I was wondering what the stock tranny gear ratios are for this year?

The reasson I am interested in this is because I am also building a 1971 German Look Super Beetle & have plans of putting a 2270 type 4 motor out back, so I would like to have similar gear ratios installed in my beetle tranny.

Thanks for the help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

According to the Haynes manual, the gear ratios are:

1st: 3.09:1
2nd: 1.89:1
3rd: 1.26:1
4th: 0.93:1
5th: 0.71:1

The final drive ratio is 1 : 4.429
