Will have to wait, no camera here, and only 4 pieces present. I came home yesterday, and Shannon had a kitchen fire.. I am going to start carrying my guitars with me. My sparkle Strat was laying on my bed, above the kitchen. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) M |

Just one more reason why I had to sell Lester... I think the guy that bought her is going to PLAY instead of having her sit in her purple fuzzy case for months on end!!i

Miles,
What shop do you, or did you work for. I worked for Dave Rogers at Dave's Guitar Shop from '95 to '99. He has some great stuff in his collection. If anyone is interested I could probably get him to let me take some photos. Anyone like custom color pre CBS Fenders or PAF era Gibsons? Nice 'burst, looks like a fire log! BJ |

WOOHOO! Nice! I wish I had the lefty!
I started out buying on the road, playing. I made alot more money trading, and it kept me out of bed all day. I ended up doing Shelby stuff, and vintage out of Miami. I used to do shows with Ed Oleck, Ed's Guitars. He passed away a couple years ago, and I have missed him for longer. We had so much fun, and bright ideas-a-million. I wish I had it all back. There was this unreal '57 Super 400N.. I quit looking for stuff around '92, or so. The burst has light belt buckle wear (by me). It's faded alot in the last uhh...24 1/2 years. I took it on the road, in a greasy drunk metal band. -burp- M |

Ah yes the memories of playing in rock bands. The funny thing about that lefty guitar. Tom Murphy had just started doing his relic 'burst stuff and saw that guitar in the Vintage Guitar Bluebook when Dave and I were looking up a price for some goofy obscure ax some guy wanted to sell. He said if he could relic a guitar to look like that he would consider it his masterpiece. The guy who owned it at the time just rolled his eyes and said Tom was nuts. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) That old strat was his main guitar for 15 years.
At one time we lived half a block apart and would hit up this bar about another block away. Middle of winter, never used cases or gig bags and literall dragged those babys behind us by the head stock! Young and stupid. |

Tom Murphy is really into it.
I hate Gibson. I wish they would just go ahead, and start making "Gone With the Wind" series guitars for the Franklin Mint. M |

Better pic of the lefty. By far the coolest strat I have ever seen. If it was right handed I would have bought it from my friend Jeff when he sold it, and make sweet love to it every night.
