Hey, that was me! I suggested the Vanagon distributor for a couple of reasons: - It's a drop in. EDIS is better, but mounting the wheel and VR sensor can get interesting on these engines, although its been done: for instance, This Guy - The distributor is identical internally to some units from inline water cooled VW's, and there are a bunch of people using them with Megasquirt over on VW Vortex. For example, This Thread. I figured to leverage other's pain for my own gain (yes, I'm planning on using this dizzy as well) - Cost: Mine cost $20 at the pick & pull, although I should add on for a rabies shot - it's THAT kind of junkyard (my favorite). They also pop up on e(vil)Bay regularly. R2.0 |
