Anyone have a good pic of the #58 or #59 Brumos 914-6?
A good straight on shot of the side or front hood would be great Want to get a good look at the font. Just so happens that my GGR car # is 5 so if I can get a good pic of the Brumos car I would like to match the font. Thanks |

Brumos actually has a couple of cars now. They have both topless and full cars. They have both the #58 and #59 in both versions. I'll see if I can dig up some pics...ooohhh I think they have some on their webpage. Search Brumos Racing....I'll still look though.

edit: this doesn't seem to be one of theirs, but I think the webpage I got it from said they built it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

I tried to match the font, and couldn't do it exactly, but I found a reasonable facsimile, well good enough for a video game.

Dan, what are the minimum size requirements for GGR-TT #'s? I think my fronts will be 14" and the sides I'm still undecided. a/x and tt class will be smaller black vinyl. KT |

I would imagine that Paul can afford to get it repaired (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)
Trekkor, Minimum for sides is 10" for the numbers themselves. I would do the same for the front and back. I would also go with a font at least 1 inch in width. Also the class designations are supposed to be on both sides only and ~5" or larger in height. As the former co-steward I can tell you that some of the car numbers are hard to determine due to their width and the style. Simple, bold, good color contrast are the best from my perspective. That is why I am looking at the retro look of the Brumos "5" That is the one pisser for the 914s and Boxsters with the new rules system...our AX and TT class designations are different. I am still undecided how I am going to deal with that one. I may just go to small magnetic sheets with the AX or TT designations. Don't want to "junk up" the new paint and smooth body work with lots of little letters and numbers. |

I have a blank magnetic sheet for just that purpose.
I'd like to paint it to match the car. KT |

Be careful with magnetic sheeting on new paint...any little dirt on the magnetic side will mage hewge uglies on fresh clear!

Yes scratching the paint with magnetics is always an issue.
I always make sure to apply wax just before I put on the magnetics. Wipe the back down and then I usually tape the entire border with painters tape to keep grit and grime out and to keep the magnetic from scooting around on the paint. That has always worked for me. like this By the way this photo is in the Corkscrew at Laguna 12-15-05 Photo by David Wong Attached image(s) |

Dan,
I've got the same issue. I've got to find a place for the TT/AX designations, plus the PRC stuff if I run there. I don't feel much like having to pull stickers off... I'm thinking of doing it this way with 4" numbers since the rules say I can get away with it: GT2R / AX2 If I run PRC I may get away with: GT2R / AX2 / GTL or maybe: GTL GT2R / AX2 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) Bill P. |
