funny story ...

once, i had a party at my house and some friend brought a hippie-dude friend over. at some point, the guy comes over and says he got a gift and hands me over a Hendrix's LP.
uhm, thanks, i guess ... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

so, the LP is in the back of my LP stash for a few years or so. never listened to it. then, another party, a friend of a friend is going through my LPs and sees the Hendrix LP. the guy is freaking out. tells me that it's some kind of really rare thing. collectors item. can't get it anymore. expensive. the holy grail of Hendrix-ian stuff. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/yawn.gif)

i ask: "you like that stuff?"
"well cool then, take it! i haven't touched it all the time i had it, so what the heck ..."

the guy freaked. i thought he was going to have a heart-attack. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)
crazy potheads! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif)

i'm sure there's a moral in there somewhere, if you find it, let me know ...
in the meanwhile, i'm going to listen to some real music ...

Um,
I think he's talking about that German headbanger dude, Beethoven. He became really popular after writing the score to "A Clockwork Orange". (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

I have both Woodstock LP's.. the bookends of my record collection. Hendrix was magical that day, totally in the groove. Thank you for the reminder, Brer. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Got it... love it. Probably have to be a musician, or close to it, to appreciate it.
