I was on the internet the other day looking for car badges. I found this company in Montana. It is called Western Awards and Engraving Company. On his web page he had a car badge for the 914 Club. I asked him if I could buy one and he told me I would go to the 914 Club to buy one.

So does anybody know who has these ( picture attached)?

That badge is from Dennis Deeds now defunct club from a few years ago. So it looks like you have located the fabricator.

Not true! The blue/white/black badge was made for the defunct 914 Club that was headquartered in Oakley, CA.

Alex Buller and Barbara LaFargue formed the Porsche 914 Club out of frustration over Dennis Deeds' 914 Owners Association. Dennis was the "benevolent dictator" who owned the organization, and subsequently presided in perpetuity. When Alex had a stroke, and died the Club went down fast. I was VP of the Club for over two years, and did the Newsletter for about a year and a half. I was asked to take over, but having been recently married, a kid on the way, and two businesses (one of which is my 914 shop), I declined, and I guess so did the future of the Club.

Jeff Gacek of Diversified Grafics Inc. built the original website, and Glenn Stazak maintained the site for about three years after Jeff stepped aside. There's more nitty gritty dirty details, but who cares?

The wine glasses were also made for the same organization, for one of the 914 Club "Renegade Festivals" in Solvang, CA.

Thanks for the history lesson Perry, it all starts to make sense now. I never understood there were TWO 914 clubs...the 914 Owners Assn. (Dennis Deeds) and the 914 Club (Alex Buller and Barabara Lafargue).

Barbara attended the first 914 WCC in 2004, I still have contact informatin for her. She has (Alexs?) pristine red 914-6..(Malaga Red I think?)

Not sure what happened to Dennis Deeds. I last heard about him the Tour 2000, but after that... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) I also noticed a whole slew of 914 OA pins and stuff on ebay last year from a seller in ...Palm Springs... Dennis Deeds headquarters (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

Now that we have a source, are we thinking about a re-design? I like the colors suggested, and Jeroens swish!

That looks nice, maybe some different colors. Is the shape supposed to be a gear or beer bottle cap?

my bad on the colors, i thought the german flag was a good place to start... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

some of these i've seen have ridges that curl down, but they don't have to. i guess it doesn't have to be round either. maybe i was just trying to kick-start this idea.

I think the shape is supposed to be a badge. Similar to the PCA badges.

I think there's a lot on there. A simple "914 Club" Badge like the old club one would do me. Colors are OK in my book. More "classic" in terms of text though...

Put me down if the price is in line with the market.

I agree with the original badge shape and design, I just don't care for the colors. If it is done I would also like to see the bolt spacing be done the same as the older badges fromn the 60's -80's that were given out in Germany. They were made to fit a variety of grills, 356, 911, 914,M.B. etc. Here are a few pics of one of mine to illustrate.

well, i don't have the corner on the design market, but i'd do a couple more just for fun. i'll make a poll in a day or so to see if anyone likes them, or people can add their own.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) we definitely DON'T need no stinking badges... but i really dig the idea and think someone should do it.
