I don't think anyone makes an SS heat exchanger for the 76 models with provisions for a CAT. I would think a bursch type muffler could be fabbed to have a cat and a muffler so you could use earlier model SS exchangers.

'75/'76 exhausts are unique to just those 2 years...I've never seen a SSI or any other brand stainless exhuast system for those 2 years.... Like Travis mentioned, you could install SSI's from the earlier models and since you'll need just about everything from the earlier model, it won't matter if you use 1.7, 1.8 or 2.0 SSI's just as long as you get the matching muffler bracket that attaches to the end of the transmission. Everything should be a bolt-on affair except the muffler since none of the pre-74 versions came with a cat, so that'll have to be added. This is worthwhile upgrade, up to 8hp is claimed to be gained from this due to the bad design of the '75/'76 exhaust... |

I'll have an original 76 HE you can have as soon as my new Triad gets here. The heat chambers are loose and needs some welding.
