I've just recently gotten this car running, and things seem pretty good. It smokes a bit, but then again it hasn't been licensed since 1988. I've replaced all the vacuum lines and I've also replaced all the ignition parts (coil, points, rotor, condeser, cap, wires, and plugs).

So my question to you all is what else would you check or do? Remove any of the smog stuff, perhaps replace that egr valve? Also I have some terrible exhaust leaks - would this cause any problems with the running of the motor? It's not registered yet so the noise doesn't bother.

One more question - the nipple is busted off the charcoal canister, I know I don't really need it anyway, but with the open hole be a prob?

Also - here in this town, there are no smog checks on vehicles.

thanks,

DT
