Decided to try to reupholster my door panels.
Got some nice felt lined vinyl that looks pretty much like the very top portion of door panels.
here are a few pics of the results.
I am using original RS America door pulls. Will securely attach them thru panels into metal of door with original items from door panels.
Turned out pretty well for about an hour and about $20 for vinyl and 3M upholstery adhesive.

After on top and before below.

And close up of final product.
Not too bad for a racecar interior (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

where can i get RSA door pulls?

In my case, my next door neighbor just got a RSA and it came with brand new in the box door panels, door pulls and other hardware. He didn't want the old ones so I got them....free ( I know you'll like that part Aaron (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) )

I am sure you can get them from Porsche at a very nice price. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

If these hadn't come along I was going to my local FLAPS and getting some aftermarket replacement handles. They actually don't look too bad. But these are much cooler (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

As far as the openings for the door latch and window crank. Those will be opened up when they are installed.

bluecar doesn't, but at this point, it still has doors!

In the future, though it will be door skins, unless I can find a decent set of fg doors (at a fair price).

Glad to see I might have motivated a few folks to try some upholstery work themselves.
My next attempt will be behind the seats. I plan on removing the behind the seat pad and the insulation and replacing it with the same vinyl glued directly to the firewall.
Will post pics of that project when I get to it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Dan, I'm anxiously waiting to see pics of your backpad setup. Aren't you concerned about the heat if you go with vinyl directly glued to the firewall though??

I'd like to do something similar, good luck!
