I've got an oppurtunity to get a ton of "thermal barrier" coating for really cheap. But I've got no way to use it. Does anyone else want an exhaust system coated, or any other parts that need thermal barrier?

I might get the BHK.

It looks like I've going to get the dealer prices on whatever I want.

yep....sprayed the ceramic coating once on my pistons.....I honestly belive it saved me from frying my motor with my 1st megasquirt install...I had driven the car quite a bit with it incorrectly tuned to have an airfuel ratio of 17:1 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif)

I'd shop it out again if going down that path for the pistons...the other stuff is not as difficult..

Are you selling the coating or the service?

How much are you getting?

I might be interested.

Looks like I'll get as much as I want after I buy the 5 hundred dollars in stuff that my guys want. Just get the dealer prices.

I'll offer the service (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

But only based on interest. I just got off the phone with the guy at techline.

good luck.....

you can get 100 people telling you they are "interested" but it's a different story once you are ready to offer the service..."shipping is a pain", "still too expensive", "car is not ready to take apart"....think of a reason and it'll be given to you once you are ready....another thing is do you have experance doing the coatings? how long??

prospective customers will want to know these things with a service such as this.......

I've done a few different brands of exhaust coating before. Our shop supplier just got out of the coating business, so it got handed to me to track down more stuff. I'm not a plating proffessional.

And I think you're probly right about the "interested" (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Oh well.

What?

I don't know about pricing yet. Probly a little worse for 6 headers than for 4, but not a whole lot. You'd have to cover shipping both ways. I use DHL though, and it was only like 20 some bucks to ship a water heat core for a truck to New York.
