Dont buy a car out of florida.
The last car we got out of florida was run a few seasons over there and EVERYTHING was rusted together on a gt3 cup car. I spent like 2 hours trying to get the nubs out (where the wheel studs are on a centerlock wheel) because they were so rusted. Wheel bearings? Sheesh... Why would someone invest all this money in a team for less then a year of racing? I mean the 06 season is pretty much under way, and in 07 they will have the 997 RSR. The only way this could work is if it were a backup car, but then why would they want a transporter and ... drivers suits (lol). |

He's selling the whole team. Drivers would probly come too.. But I wouldn't buy them from Florida either. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/w00t.gif)
Yeah. I know what you're saying about the cars. I've been stuck under a 911 m404 that came from Florida. You can't see the engine for all the rust falling in your eyes. Brakes were all shot, too. Great place to find an 80,000 dollar car. Or a 2 million dollar race team. |

Is that the Peterson-White Lightning Porsche? I just read an article about their plans for the 2006 season starting with Sebring. It indicated that they have a new car for this season.

Yes it is. SEBRING, Fla. (February 20, 2006) — Petersen Motorsports/ White Lightning Racing will defend its Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring GT2 class victory with one of the most talented and interesting lineups in the team’s history. Mike Petersen (Las Vegas, Nev.) announced today that his 2005 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) GT2 championship-winning team will open their season with second-year Petersen/ White Lightning driver Jörg Bergmeister, his brother Tim Bergmeister (both drivers of Langenfeld, Germany) and 2003 Petersen/ White Lightning Sebring pilot Nic Jönsson (Buford, Ga.). The trio will attempt to maintain the No. 31 MMPIE/ PAWS/ Michelin Porsche 911 GT3 RSR’s streak of Sebring podium finishes with the 54th Annual 12 Hours of Sebring on March 18. The Dale White-managed team has never failed to earn a podium at the 12 Hours since its first event in 2003 having taken its first class win in ‘05. The Westward Ho Casino closed down, maybe that's why they have to sell the team. no more money?

The team sold off last years cars because they got new 997's. And if the sponser changed they would need all new suits and stuff. He must have got a sweet deal. |
