A buddy of mine is building a Super 7 replica from scratch. His progress thread is here.

I gave him a 914 steering column, rack, and seats to help his effort. He's making really good progress. So far the only british parts on the car are some Triumph bushings.

The seats need recovering, anybody know where he can get a good deal on that?

Also, he needs a smaller steering wheel. Anybody got one cheap?

Cool build. I was going to make one of those myself (or a DSR) - then I bought the 914 so I would have a running car - (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/av-943.gif) . There is a ton on info on making these cars on the web.

I have a nice small Momo wheel that I would let go - I think it's a 12 or 13" one with the rough suede cover. It's almost new.

I thought these were kinda cool. I like the look of them. I've been to champion motor car co in Madison Al that builds lotus seven kits. While there shop is neat they need to work on the welding bootyfab. IE I saw them filling 1/4in gaps where tubing was joining then grind it down smooth.

The guy that builds those things will show up at a/x around here. His shop is south of Tampa. The cars are sick fast. Lighter than mine and more HP (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

There was a guy at the Alpine 500 last year with a real one, old pinto motor in it, shockingly fast, blew us away in the 911. He got married during the event, nice girl, we bought her some ski gloves as a wedding present (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) because she was freezing her butt off, dude was a mechanic for some Mazda racing team
