Did you take off the tin under the barrels but above teh push rod tubes? It is called a windage tray by some and will hold your head on fi you do not remove it. I think it is one screw and easy.
HTH (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) BTW: I know because I always forget it (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |

The windage tray is inside the engine and is supposed to keep oil at the sump during cornering. The pieces under the cylinders is just another piece of cooling tin. Just in case anyone is keeping score. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) You should be able to pull the head off with the cylinders still attached. So if the under-cylinder tin is still attached to the case, remove the two screws on the case that hold it in place. Are the pushrod tubes still attached? There are washers (special thick washers, keep them safe) under the head nuts, make sure you pull them out or they might hold you up. Good luck. |

IIRC windage tray is what is inside the sump..... Get a rubber mallet and tap em to loosen them up.... Complete sentences are your friend. |

Yeah, I'm fast Aaron. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)
Sounds like the pushrod tubes are holding you up. They just pull out once the rockers are off. You can carefully use a pair of pliers. |

slow is good sometimes.... rofl.... shaggy.. squeeze real hard with the pliers on the pushrod tube... if you want them to collapse (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/tongue.gif) (JUST KIDDING>>>>DONT SQEEZE) try a rag and your hand and twist them left and right... and they should pull out thru the head.... |

If you pull a plug and feed bunch of nice soft rope in there while the piston is down, and then turn the crank... something's gotta give. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Have you determined if the crank is a 2.0? Once you get the head off, measure the stroke and bore so we know. |
