We can spin them by hand AAron, driving the seals out takes greater force than I would have expected. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pain30.gif)

P.S. Jim got 'em out and the head is off, photos to follow.

P.P.S. We already have found a broken rocker arm.

I agree with the posts that say to be firm. My heads were the same way and we just beat the crap out of them (with a rubber mallet) until they submitted.

Tettster split tonight with the camera.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

We will shoot some and post tonight later or tomorrow. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

The piston with the broken rocker arm (directly behind the driver,#1?), intake{edit}, is O.K. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

The head for that same cylinder is STILL WET, after sitting who knows how long.

What makes a rocker arm break?

Thanks to All,

John

Whats broken, the arm itself, the adjuster, or....? What do you mean wet? Gas?

BTW I should have some rockers if you need one.

Did you guys measure the bore and stroke yet?

its the entire rocker arm

not just the adjustment

im not sure what he means by "wet"
they dont look wet to me but they sure are black
is there a best way to clean heads and pistons?

ALSO

we found metal particulate in the heads
we removed the valve cover gaskets and there was metal coating the walla of the inside of the head
the metal was rather evenly spaced
im thinking it came through the pushrod tubed
any ideas?

thank for the help gettin the head off hopfully the next one will be easier
