What are the chances that a set of P195/65/R15 will fit my 74 914 with stock fenders using 2ltr alloys? I'm still running stock tires now.
Thanks for your help,

Should fit with no problem (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)
Every 914 is just slightly different, but a lot of us run 205x50s on stock 2L Fuchs alloys with stock fenders. I have 195s right now on 8 spoke Empi looks with spacers and they fit fine. My 2L fuchs now have 205 A032R Yokos mounted ready to be installed.

195s should be no problem.

Thanks...I've heard people talk about how 914s can be different and just wanted to see what everyone thought. I wanted to get a tire that is a nice ride and not to risky fitting. The car is being painted now and I don't want to roll the fenders. I don't know of anyone in my area that has an alloy with a 195 or 205 mounted that I could try. Is it the front fender turning radius that's usually the problem?

Nope, rear is the problem. Also depends if the car is radically lowered or if it is at a more stock ride hieght.
We will need to see some pics of the new paint job. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

What color?

I decided to go ahead and have it repainted the original paint, Bahia red--in the shop now. I had stripped the entire car down to bare metal so color choices were wide open. I seriously toiled painting it Malaga red or the 911 wine metallic red. Here are two pictures of those two colors of red, neither of which I chose in the end. I figured I would get a better paint job going the original color.

I have seen cars with up to 215s on the rear with unflared fenders. This was done using the poor man's flare system. A 2x4 was cut into a curve and then a siccors jack was used in the wheel well to SLOWLY stretch the metal of the fender out. If done slowly and gently it might (and has) been done without cracking the paint. The guys that I knew that did it were very patient and careful and had great results. The flare was subtle and wouldn't be noticed by most people.

Good luck.

I had a 914-6 that I ran 225s on 7 inch Fuchs with stock fenders that had been massaged that way. Worked perfectly with no rubbing. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

what is the best (most likely to succeed) ratio for 205's? Is 205/65 recommended for empis and unmassaged fenders?
